Multi-directional plastic geogrid (three-directional plastic geogrid and four-directional plastic geogrid) is one of the main geosynthetics. Compared with other geosynthetics, it has unique performance and efficacy. Geogrids are often used as reinforcements for reinforced earth structures or composite materials. Geogrids can be divided into plastic geogrid, steel-plastic geogrid, glass fiber geogrid and polyester warp-knitted polyester geogrid. The polymer mesh with square or rectangular shape formed by stretching can be divided into two kinds: unidirectional stretching geogrid and biaxial stretching geogrid according to the different stretching directions during its manufacture. It is punched on the extruded polymer sheet (polypropylene or high density polyethylene) and then directionally stretched under heating conditions. The unidirectional tension grids are made by stretching along the length of the sheet only; the biaxial tension grids are made by stretching the unidirectional tension grids in the direction perpendicular to their length.
